Today! is the flashlight. 107 Years ago, it was patented by some Russian named Conrad Hubert. Imagine not having a flashlight 108 years ago. It must have been.. hard to uh... look at tight spaces where lamps couldn't reach back then?

So. With that said. I think i'm going to start a Photography Project. It shall be called: An Invention A Day. I'll be posting pictures of inventions made/patented on the current day. I think the Nerditron inside me will enjoy this. It feels like a more entertaining way of excercising my photography playground. I hope you all enjoy!

My desk is a mess lol

Just shot with my X-370. AND FINALLY got shots developed. I wanna say these are my entry shots. But my past rolls of films have been mutilated due to my stupidity. I finally got it to work now! and used the BW400CN film. Which isn't really black and white. It's color film forcing to be Black and White. I don't know what it is about me but I really prefer authenticity when it comes to things like these. I made due though. ANYWAY!

Aside from me being butt hurt about fake black and white film. Biergarten was fun! Lately.. I've been going there every week to get hammered haha. I keep meeting old friends there, it seems like the happenin place apparently. I even made friends with a fellow Xangan there! (she out drank me lol). Biergarten is made famous by it's awesome set up, and super cheap micro brews! it's $11 - 13 for 1 Liter. I'm normally good with 2. I haven't gone past 2.5 Liters. But I probably will if I keep going there every week lol. Last week I've been drinking the Edelweiss I couldn't get it the week before. But Glad I finally got to. The beer was strong in that one.

Did anyone else just jizz in their pants. I've been reading reviews all day about this camera ever since the information has been released this morning haha. The first DSLT! (Single Lens Translucent) Canon was all up on that in the 70's (?) but left that technology in the past. Sony picked up the fumble and said whazao.

I'm really looking foreward to the video capability which is it's main selling point to me at least. With ISO's *reachign 12800. That is not a typo Time to upgrade from my A300. To the more fancy shmancy DSLT world. I'll get back into DSLR once I have enough money for the A900. But for now I'm gonna make this my main Camera Body as far as my Digital world goes.

My friends came to visit. I promised them a nice photo oppurtunity filled exploration along with an undersatanding on how to develop film.

The exploring part was fun, we went to south street and went to a park and somehow ended up at the liberty bell. These pictures aren't mine at all since i opted to use my slr. What was worse is that i used slide film. lol. Sadly the camera shop i took it to get developed said it'd take 3 weeks to develop it =___= I just found a place that would develop it in a week too. So i'll see if I can retrieve it instead and bring it there. 

All of these pictures belong to JAs Camera and none from mine. also! all shots that were taken were from the lovely Rudes JA's lil sistar. much respek!

Later that night I attempted to develop my own film and if a experienced film developer saw what I was doing. I'm pretty sure he'd want to punch my face. So hard.

Things I know now that I did wrong then:

-I tried to do the math to make the 1 Gal Developer kit into a 1 Liter Developing kit and leave the powder behind.
-We couldn't cool the temp of the water so we couldn't get the chemicals at the proper temp (20 deg Celsius) so we just tried to do the math to compensate the developing.
       *Actually another factor is that after mixing the Developer your suppose to wait a Day for it to cool and activate.
       *Another reason why I thought I'd need hot water was that I mixed up the developing procedures for C-41.

So yeah. it was a super botched project. Even though it sucked so hardcore. We at least managed to develop a little thing in the film of Jans shirt somewhere.

Fail

It was a good experience all in all though. I think my knowledge just gained a level in understanding photography, and developing film and all the types of developing and things. It disheartened me but I don't think I'm gonna stop until I get it down. The next day I bought a film cook book to explain it more in depth on how to develop film. And I also bought a C-41 film developing kit. So i'm a little excited for when all of those things come to my footstep. w00t.

After that fail we all took shots of southern comfort for our failure. and my brother decided that it wasn't enough for a good time. so we decided to play pusoy dos who ever was last took the shot who ever won swapped with the person waiting to play next. 4-6 shots later we decided to have fun with a camera and do some light painting. this is what we did

At White Castle... I was running on 2 hours of sleep. So anything was a comfortable bed.

I like taking hot showers. So after scrubbing my face off in an attempt to remove the markings on my face, I couldn't see the outcome because the mirror was too steamy. Not thinking much of it. I went to playing video games and remembered I have to develop the film from last night.

I walked into Walgreens thinking I just had to hide my fingers because of the stupidly red/pink permenant marker they used (which still hasn't come off btw). Walked in the store just hiding my nails to develop the film. Went to the register to buy more film and the guy was being extra loud with me and clearly telling me "HAVE A GOOD DAY." Not thinking much of it. I got in the car looked at the rear view and saw that I haven't completely washed the penis off my face D: My friend was right next to me the whole time and did not want to point out that It wasn't completely washed off yet. WTFUUU. He thought that I thought it was good enough =__= it was that or he did it on purpose. lol. 

w00t. oh i'm hangin in philly today! with a bunch of photography nerds. will be developing at home as well will post pictures soon! huzzah! i should get some sleep lol.

I actually was going to laugh at this guy because it looked like it was going be one of those videos. But it turns out he actually had some smooth moves. And the funny cool... uh... weird? part is that he has 78 videos of him dancing to different songs. His song selection is pretty bangalangin though.

At first when I saw tectonik I thought it was just a cooler way to vogue. But it turns out everyone that's into electro is doin it. pretty fly. Just thought i'd introduce it to you because I noticed some people haven't realized it's existance yet especially when I ask around my friends. Gotta love morning Youtube Surfing.

just got all of that for the fair price of $30. I thought it was too good to be true. But the girl didn't know what she had. Her back story was her friend's dad use to be a photographer and she gave it to her because she thought she liked photography. But apparently she already has a Vivitar camera. 

It was kind of weird on how we had to meet each other since she didn't have a phone so I told her i'd meet her at a train stop at a specific time. I thought it was going to be too good to be true and i'd probably get shot mid-transaction. But luckily for me it was real. 

Minolta X-370, Vivitar Flash, 50mm f=1.7 Minolta MC lens, 28mm f=2.8 Five Star MC lens, 70-200mm f=4.5 Five Star MC lens, and 4 Lens filters that are oddly a size too big to actually fit in my lenses.

ALL FOR $30! It was such a good deal that I let her have $40. Because she obviously didn't know what she was giving up for so cheap D: 

Another good example of another mans garbage is another mans treasure. high five for garbage! oh and she bought a new battery for it already. PLUS there was a roll of 120 on it. XD 

You'd think I'd have pictures this time around, especially after such a fun & long (that's what she said) weekend.

what kind of shit?

the green kind. where the first roll of film from my new camera (more on that later. it's the minolta x-370) was torn due to my ignorance and lack of understanding for such an old model of slr. 

the watery kind. where my black and white film was not meant to be developed in C-41 developer. but was. so my developed film was just a blank reel of nothingness. my best regards to the wonderful employees of walgreens.

the normal kind. where the second roll of film for my Minolta X-370 SLR was snapped again still due to the lack of understanding for the camera. After the film snapping, I did learn the proper way to rewind the reel to protect my film from light. So it wasn't so bad. I did take the film out in a closet. There was a little crack of light when i removed the film and put it in a container and the container itself was a opaque plastic so the film might have been over exposed to light. I'll give it a shot when I develop it though.

That's 3 rolls of film. Wasted. 86 exposures.  24 exposures with a possible recovery. MAYBE. but hey. I learned a lot of things the hard way this weekend. 

All in all though I had a lot of fun. Went to Beer Garden in Jersey City had a blast. Saw a old friend and made some new ones. Got penis's and the like permenantly markered all over my face. Played Tennis. Played Baseball. Ate at Shake Shack again and. SAW SCOTT PILGRIM! PLEASE GO SEE IT. I EFFING LOVED IT. MICHAEL SERA...  SO HOT. Really good action scenes. Fun for the nerds. Fun for the old school gamers... Basically Everyone will love it  

And yeah. I'll get more into depth later. I just got home and it's 4am. I have to prepare for reality later in 12 hours. 

PA Makes me feel like such a explorer. It is kinda cool to find crap on the road on your bike. Going on the main roads then suddenly you find a trail often excites me. The first half of the roll is with me on my super stellar bike and then the second half was the creepy park I was talking to you about on my last blog. I'll just post my favorites on here though. About the Maxxum 4: I lost my dad's first one in the philippines. I left it in the bus when we arrived at our destination. I asked if I can see it out of fascination in the bus.. tucked it under my seat.. And left the bus.. my dad was pissed. After we got back from the Philippines my dad dropped a pretty penny again to purchase the same camera this time with additions. After digital photography came out he long forgot about the camera.

7 years later. I'm sifting through the old crap in my parents house and I ask my mom if we had any cameras laying around. Less likely I thought. Then she told me how my dad had a SLR laying around.. with film! •__• i lit up. I felt kinda bad because my dad didn't really want to part with it since he's giving the camera to the same person who lost it 7 years ago. But I vowed I will use it and keep it under good care. I was pushing it too but yeah. sweet. Lenses are interchangeable with my  Sony Alpha as well so i'm excited

Ok. Now that it's morning and I finally had some rest. I think I was just over reacting in the late hours of my weariness. But I do have my reasons. One is that I was scanning at 4am lol. 

So my mom gave me her gps as a going away present after vacation and I decided to use it to get home from work one night. It was 1am and the roads were dark. The GPS took me to through the dark places of PA and I had to cross a bridge. The first time. It gave me the worst feeling of death in the world. CALL ME A PANSEY. I sometimes am. But I ended up calling some friends up to keep me company. Not like it helped. One actually made it worse... T__T you know who you are. 

Anyway. It's my day off and I just finished checking out this one camera shop ($3 for expired film ) and on the way home I had to pass by the bridge again. I finally passed by it during the day and it turns out there's a park entrance to the bridge! I made a quick U-Turn to check it out.

The bridge had rusted railings and had some falling off. Then I thought this would be a good place to suicide. I wouldn't be surprised if people have done it before. So I decided to take a picture as if I was going to suicide.

The people on the ground were just watching hesitantly as I took this picture lol. But after I scanned it... probably because my mind was so set on ghosts and how eerie it was, I kinda made that algae block my ghost.It kinda looks like a ghost?... right? as if the person already jumped? It's something I really wanted it to be. But I don't think I could be as lucky as Lani's photo.
